How I Work
My Counselling Service is a collaborative process that is tailored to you personally. I listen to understand how your experiences impact your life without making assumptions, interpreting symptoms or trying to fit you into a formula.
I am an interactive, relational therapist. I will be in there with you without getting in the way of your thoughts, processes, and insights. You will feel supported and held by me as your confident companion through the more painful aspects of the therapeutic process. I will be your ally as you connect with feelings you may have been avoiding or experiences you may have felt too difficult to explore or examine on your own.
Depending on your goals for therapy, I can offer you time and space to explore your concerns or a range of tools and techniques to help you access and process traumatic experiences, difficult emotions, or limiting beliefs. Therapy can help change or widen your perspective regarding your situation or your life and help you develop self-compassion, self-confidence, self-acceptance, and enthusiasm for life.
Relational Couples & Family Counselling
I work with couples, both together and individually, to help them move out of cycles of conflict, restore closeness and build deeper, fulfilling relationships.
I take a relational and reflective approach that helps partners understand themselves and each other more deeply. The couples I work with use self-awareness as the foundation for healthier communication, emotional regulation, and connection. I help couples get clear about the relationship they want and help them address the issues that are getting in the way. As a trauma-informed therapist, I help couples address and resolve past trauma that may be impacting their relationship. Trauma work helps both partners to build the capacity to explore why they react the way they do in intimate moments and confront unhealthy behaviours that are harming their relationship.
My intention as your therapist is to help you build a relationship grounded in mutual respect, emotional honesty and genuine partnership. To support you in creating lasting connection by strengthening communication, boundaries and repair after conflict. I do this by identifying patterns that keep you stuck, guiding each of you towards greater accountability and healthier ways of relating.
